Skelmersdale Art Network ‘Sanctuary’ celebration

Skelmersdale Art Network is looking forward to celebrating the end of its first year with a debut exhibition this November called Sanctuary.

The Network has been going from strength to strength since its formation in January and despite lockdowns and covid restrictions, has attracted a wide range of members.  They have been meeting throughout the year via zoom and face to face sessions to learn new things together and find ways of celebrating art in Skelmersdale.

The Network’s spring and summer activities included a photography walk along the Tawd, sketching and photography in Upholland, sunset sketching to celebrate Summer Solstice and a ‘Drink and Draw’ session at Burscough Wharf.

As the first year draws to a close, Skelmersdale Art Network is holding its first public exhibition in November to celebrate art in Skelmersdale.  The exhibition’s title ‘Sanctuary’ reflects the safe place created by the Network where people can be creative and celebrate their artistic work within community.  Around 70 pieces will be displayed at the exhibition in a wide range of mediums including watercolour, chalk pastel, embroidery, pencil crayon, and pencil & silk.

The exhibition will be held on Saturday 13th November (10am-5pm) and Sunday 14th November (10am-4pm) at the Artz Centre Birch Green, WN8 6QE.  There will also be art on sale and refreshments available.

Everyone is welcome, no booking required.
