West Lancs Consortium AGM and Celebration Event
On 18th September, organisations from across West Lancs gathered together for an engaging and inspiring evening at the West Lancs Consortium AGM and Celebration Event
The Consortium is an alliance of local voluntary sector organisations who are working together to bring more resources into West Lancs. The Consortium builds on the networking activity undertaken by CVS and the investment of UKSPF funding coordinated by the Borough Council. Anchored by WLBC and WLCVS, the Consortium is intent on promoting projects and enterprises that involve and support local communities.
As the first AGM, this event was an opportunity to officially vote in officers and to review the Consortium’s aims and plans, as well as to celebrate the fantastic work of local charities, community groups, faith organisations and social enterprises.
The event brought together key speakers from a range of local organisations whose message was clear: collaboration, leadership and strategic partnership are essential to unlocking the full potential of the sector and driving positive change across our communities.
The keynote speaker was Tracy Hopkins, Chair of the Lancashire & South Cumbria VCFSE Alliance, who spoke movingly of the power of the Sector and the contribution it makes in every community. You can read her full presentation here.

‘This was more than a celebration; it was a moment to recognise the sector’s vital role in shaping a better future and to spark new conversations about how we work together moving forward’
Vic Citarella, Chair of CVS said
‘This was a great evening of celebration for the voluntary sector. WLCVS delighted to work with WLBC in supporting local community leaders create the “West Lancashire Cooperating” Consortium. By bringing enterprises together we can achieve even more.’
Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a meaningful day. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to support the incredible work happening across our communities.
